Jelly Roll Rug Pattern
We are excited to announce the new pattern Pillows & Placemats to carry on the phenomenal Jelly-Roll Rug Technique craze with this new home decor pattern.
This version will still use all or part of a 40 piece pre cut 2-1/2in jelly roll or strip roll.
The pattern contains instructions for Two 16″ pillows, Two 18″ pillows, Two 20″ pillows or the placemat set consisting of 4 placemats, 4 coasters, and one trivet. Additional yardage will be needed for pillow backings and placemat set binding.
Roma was inspired to create the first rug & pattern while admiring antique rugs. Her inspiration and info in her own words below…
‘I wanted to come up with something that would be a fun sewing project for all.
After seeing the methods that were currently available, I decided that I wanted something totally different & Behold, the Jelly-Roll Rug came to pass!’

- 2.5″ Pre Cut Organic Cotton Wadding Strips. Here…
- Cushion Inners. Here...
- Jeans Sewing Machine Needles. Here...
- Spool of sewing thread at least 1000m. Here...
- Best Press or Spray Starch Alternative. Here...
- You will need a sewing machine that will make at least a 5mm wide zig-zag. Roma, the pattern creator, used a 5.5mm wide stitch on the sample in the product image.
- Fabric requirements vary depending on which project you are making. See 'Fabric List' on back of pattern in the image gallery.
