Jersey Fabric Information

Mid weight Jersey Fabric created using a Cotton/ Poly blend and glitter to highlight the fab design. It is perfect for a variety of projects and will be easy care with minimal creasing.

We describe this as a: Mid - Heavier Weight Jersey (240gsm) .
As a rough guide lightweight options come in at 100 - 140gsm mark. At the 240gsm weight with a brushed cotton finish the fabric is ideal for warmer garments.

The manufacturer advises the following care instructions however we always advise testing a small piece first to make sure you are 100% happy.

Needles - Stitch with Jersey Ballpoint Machine Needles. The ball of the needle parts the Jersey fibres rather than piercing them to help ensure the elastic quality remain intact.

Thread - Stitch with Empress General Purpose Thread, this is a poly/cotton fibre. Alternatively if you would prefer to work with a pure cotton option Empress 100% Cotton Thread will also stitch perfectly.

Interfacing - Vlieseline (Vilene) Stretch Interfacings are created especially for working with fabrics such as Jersey. They add a little more body to make sewing easier.
